Vintage make a full range of guitars, both acoustic and electric.
The V300N reviewed is the blonde version of this small bodied acoustic which comes in a range of finishes, including very bright blue, and pink versions! If you're looking for a small-bodied electro-acoustic there's the VE300 or VE1300, fitted with Shadow pickup systems which will be reviewed at a later date.
THE GUITAR
The guitar is a 000 size sometimes known as a 'parlour' size guitar, smaller than the standard 'Dreadnought' style acoustic but if designed properly, having a full, yet bright sound nevertheless....
The 20 frets are medium sized, fitted into a dot marked, bound rosewood fretboard. The top is solid spruce - unusual for a guitar in this price range, finished with an attractive cream/white binding. Top and sides are laminated which is fine for this type of instrument. I was extremely impressed with the build quality of the review sample. All joints are well finished and the gloss laquer on this sample is spotless. The chromed machine heads have a smooth action and throughout the test held tuning well. Each guitar is fitted with high quality USA-made bronze acoustic strings.
TIME TO PLAY!
This really is a lovely guitar to play. It also sounds amazing- especially for the price - I recorded it alongside a similar sized acoustic from one of the premier manufacturers costing much, much more and the Vintage gave an excellent account of itself in every area. The bottom end (bass response) is warm yet tight, and the highs sparkle nicely. It recorded very well, and is loud enough to be used acoustically in small rehearsal situations with other acoustic instruments / vocals. Very comfortable feel, and excellent intonation - thanks in part to the compensated bridge and good quality tuners.

It is one of those guitars which are very hard to put down. I feel that the V300 would be equally at home in a practice situation, or in the recording studio for even the most demanding project...
Oh, and you guessed correctly - immediately after reviewing the V300, I bought one!!...
Highly recommended.
